A lot of attention has bee given to programming alternatives since the writer's strike began and why not? I'd rather jump on the web and find something unique to watch rather than watch repeats of television series I've seen way to many times already or watch mind numbing reality TV. With the strike coming to an end I wanted to remind you about a few programs that deserve your continued attention even though LOST is back on.
Revision3
Revision3 is an online network with tons of great pop culture and technology programming. Their shows do play at the same time on the Revision3 website each week so you can head to their website and get a schedule. Or, you can download the episodes to be viewed anytime you like after the initial airing. I tend to watch some of their programs as podcasts on my Zune but you can save them and watch on your PC. The best of the best from Revision3 are:
Web Drifter
Have you ever wondered about the people that run those really weird websites out there? Well, wonder no more, Martin Sergeant travels across the country and meeting the webmasters of sites that support extra terrestrial life, witches, fetishes, and a lot more. The show at its worst is amusing and at its best is hilarious.
Diggnation
Digg.com is a website that sorts news stories by the number of votes they get from readers after they have been submitted by readers from various websites around the interwebs. The hosts site creator Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht go over the news while they drink various beers, hilarity ensues! The show is more about pop culture news rather than the serious stuff.
The Totally Rad Show
The three hosts of this series discuss comic books, movies, and videogames in a lighthearted an entertaining way. This is a show for geeks by geeks.
Tekzilla
Do you like gadgets? Are you a computer use that could use advice on what to do or what to buy? Well this is the show for you! Tech veteran Patrick Norton and a new as yet to be named co-host cover the latest in tech goodness.
Independent
Sanctuary

Creators from the hit series Stargate and one of the stars of the series Amanda Tapping have come together with a multimillion dollar budget to create a new science fiction series set in a dark future where supernatural beings roam the Earth. tapping plays a doctor dedicated to helping these beings at whatever cost. The entire series is shot in front of green screen similar to Sin City and it works fantastically. Get the episodes in high definition right from the website for a few bucks each.
I know there's a lot more out there to watch, these are just my current favorites. If you know of other great shows please email me and I'll post additions here at CineGeek.
